Remember I said that you should use either he said or said he consistently through your manuscript. Well it seems it seems it’s a matter of ‘do as I say’ more than ‘do as I do.’
I can find many websites that express this sentiment. However, I have been keeping an eye out whilst reading and top writers, e.g. Conn Iggledon, Stephen leather, Giles Kristin, use the tag either way through their book as you do. You were right all along! I will keep my mouth shut in future.
There are so many bloggers and web sites that give writing advice and it becomes confusing as many are contradictory.
